Remembrance Service 2020

We really enjoyed our Remembrance Service, although it was different, the whole school community feel was very much still here.

In more normal times we would have joined together at Llanyrafon Methodist Church, to place poppies on the cross, sing hymns, watch a demonstration of the standard bearers and hold a two minute silence.

Torfaens Armed Forces Policy Officer, Alan Vernon-Jones created a video with an introduction from Councillor Alan Jones, The Last Post and Re Valley played on the horn and some fantastic pictures of the services held across the borough. We joined with Reverend Sue once again, she shared a lovely story about why we remember on this special day.

A big thank you to Councillor Joanne Gauden who donated a poppy wreath for us to lay on behalf of Crownbridge School and also a big thank you to Ivor for reading Flanders Fields through video, Ivor has attended our Rememberance Services for over 16 years.
